{{3T Review}} BLACK ICE by BECCA FITZPATRICK

Danger is hard to resist in this sexy thriller from Becca Fitzpatrick, theNew York Times bestselling author of the Hush, Hush saga.

Brit Pheiffer has trained to backpack the Teton Range, but she isn't prepared when her ex-boyfriend, who still haunts her every thought, wants to join her. Before Britt can explore her feelings for Calvin, an unexpected blizzard forces her to seek shelter in a remote cabin, accepting the hospitality of its two very handsome occupants;but these men are fugitives, and they take her hostage.

Britt is forced to guide the men off the mountain, and knows she must stay alive long enough for Calvin to find her. The task is made even more complicated when Britt finds chilling evidence of a series of murders that have taken place there and in uncovering this, she may become the killer's next target.

But nothing is as it seems, and everyone is keeping secrets, including Mason, one of her kidnappers. His kindness is confusing Britt. Is he an enemy? Or an ally?

Black Ice is New York Times bestselling author Becca Fitzpatrick's riveting romantic thriller set against the treacherous backdrop of the mountains of Wyoming. Falling in love should never be this dangerous.

Talk about reading until dawn, Becca Fitzpatrick’s Black Ice had me held and I couldn’t put it down no matter how sleep deprived I would be the next day. I just needed to know how everything turned out or to paraphrased the words of the main character Britt, I needed to know how their story ended. Sure, halfway through the book I realized the big reveal but I’m a writer and that’s exactly what I would’ve done in Becca’s shoes. It was still beautifully done and I loved reading every second of this wonderful book.

Here’s a quick rundown of what the book is about: Britt and her best friend, Korbie are going on a spring break trip to Korbie’s family’s cabin in the Teton mountains (which by the way I just read the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand which takes place in the same area as this book! AH!) where they’re supposed to be meet up with Korbie’s brother and Britt’s ex, Calvin along with Korbie’s boyfriend, Bear and go on a forty-mile trek on the mountain according to Britt’s plans. However, on the way up there’s a snow storm that throws Britt right into the middle of a murder mystery when she and Korbie are taken captive by two fugitives on the run from the cops and both of them have a connection to a murder that happened a year before that were followed by two other similar murders on the same mountain. The murderer is closer than Britt may realize. She’ll need to learn to save herself and maybe someone else along the way, all the while making sure she doesn’t die in the harsh snow storms as she leads her two kidnappers down to the highway.

I recommend this book first, to anyone that has read Becca Fitzpatrick’s Hush Hush series as both of the stories are entertaining and thrilling. She knows how to write books that keep you up into the wee hours of the night and not feel like you've wasted any time because there’s always a good ending that makes every minute worth it. Second, to readers that love both teen novels and mystery books, this is absolutely the best of both worlds. Don’t worry though, this book isn’t all snow storms and murderer, love always find a way in and I’m completely fine with how it happened in the book.

I give this book 5 out 5 stars. I’m telling you right now don’t hesitate on this book go find a copy at your local library or just buy it, this book is definitely worth a read or maybe even two, I believe it’s that good.

Favorite Quotes:

"You Saved my life we're a team. We're in this together." He laughed, a short painful sound of relief. "It's you and me, Britt."
