About the Author
Colm was raised and educated in Monaghan, Ireland. He has a BA Hons in PE and likes reading books, watching films and playing
sport. He has always loved storytelling, whether through literature or film. James Clyde and the Diamonds of Orchestra is his first
novel and brings a very fulfilling creative experience spanning a number of years to an end.

I found James Clyde and the diamonds of orchestra to be surprisingly good. I usually stand clear of a lot of fantasy books. They tend to bore me until I fall asleep. I'm pleased to say that didn't happen in this story. I found myself truly engrossed in the story wondering what will happen next. As a mother of young children I found this book to be extremely appropriate with only a few occasional bloody scene that weren't to heavy or scary.
James Clyde is a lovable, fun 11 year old who can kick 'Dakota' (these evil creature who kill with no mercy) butt while being comfy in his PJ's. Throughout the story we follow these three children( James, Ben, and Mary) as they life as orphans trying to just survive the world they live in. That is until they stumble upon the secrets of the mansion James' grandfather owns. After some crazy action/escapes scene the three children find themselves in a different world surrounded by more evil than good. They must battle for the future of good. I love how James act/treats Mary in this story. He is so kind to her it's such a cute friendship they have. Then the playful banter between James and Ben keeps this story fun and light.
All in all I did enjoy James Clyde and the Diamonds of Orchestra. I would recommend this to children probably Ten and up. It was a fun fast read that children of most ages will love.
